History of Reichland Asylum

Early Beginnings (2008 - 2013)

Reichland Asylum's journey began In 2008 with a simple yard display born out of a childhood love for decorating during Halloween. This initial passion quickly grew, leading to the creation of a walk-through haunt in 2009. In 2011 and 2012, the team partnered with RAC to run a professional haunt named Human Roast House, setting the stage for future developments.

Birth of Reichland Asylum (2014 - 2019)

In 2014, Reichland Asylum was officially established. Over the next five years, the haunt expanded into the backyard, gradually gaining recognition and popularity. In 2019, the iconic facade that defines the asylum today was constructed, reaching a significant milestone. That same year, Reichland Asylum was invited to join the Hall of Shadows at Midsummer Scream in Long Beach, CA, marking its entry into a larger, professional haunt community.

Adapting and Growing (2020 - Present)

Despite the challenges of 2020, Reichland Asylum kept the Halloween spirit alive with its largest display ever, "Crawford Gardens." In 2021, they became an inaugural Hall of Yuletide Spirits member at Midsummer Scream's Seasons Screamings. They returned to the Hall of Shadows in 2022, expanding the haunt covering over 5,000 square feet and the entire property, including the front of the house.

Recent Achievements (2023)

In 2023, Reichland Asylum's reputation reached new heights. They were invited to participate as contestants in Season 2 of ABC’s “The Great Halloween Fright Fight,” showcasing their creativity and dedication. That year also marked their most significant and successful season ever, with over 7,000 visitors experiencing the haunt.

Reichland Asylum has grown from a simple yard display into a massive, immersive experience that delights and terrifies thousands of visitors annually. Its history is a testament to the passion and dedication of its creators, who continually push the boundaries of haunted attractions.
